Astro Bot wins Game of the Year at New York Game Awards 2025

Team Asobi's platformer won three awards, including best Kids Game and Best Music in a Game

The 14th annual New York Game Awards took place last night, with Astro Bot claiming the prestigious Game of the Year title.

Team Asobi’s beloved platformer received four nominations and walked away with three awards, including Best Kids Game and Best Music in a Game.

Elden Ring: Shadow of the Erdtree, the expansion from FromSoftware, was another standout winner, earning accolades for Best World and Best DLC.

In the indie category, Mossmouth’s UFO 50 was crowned Best Indie Game, while MiHoYo’s Zenless Zone Zero secured Best Mobile Game and Camouflaj’s Batman: Arkham Shadow won Best AR/VR Game.

Troy Baker won Best Acting in a Game for his portrayal of Indiana Jones in Indiana Jones and the Great Circle, with the award presented by fellow actor Matthew Porretta, known for his work on Alan Wake and Control.

Other highlights included Metaphor: ReFantazio by Studio Zero winning Best Writing in a Game, and Bloober Team’s remake of Silent Hill 2 earning Best Remake. The indie darling Mouthwashing was honored as Best Hidden Gem.

Additionally, Remedy’s creative director Sam Lake, a cornerstone of the studio since 1995, was recognized with the Andrew Yoon Legend Award for his enduring contributions to the gaming industry.
