Trainee Consultant at Be Different

About us:

Be Different stems from a desire to create a unique experience for our clients, candidates and the staff we employ like never before. For us, recruitment is about building relationships that stand the test of time and ensuring that all parties are satisfied at the end of the process. In addition to having industry leading expertise, we are keen to ensure we're giving back to the wider community and as such, will donate 5% of every fee to charity. This will be split equally between the hiring manager and candidate’s charities of choice. To date, we’ve donated in excess of £165,000 to charities across the Globe.

Whilst we have only be in existence since October 2020, we have already established ourselves as an important cog in the gaming ecosystem with a plethora of global clients and many successful placements.

We, Selim and Nick (the co-founders), have in excess of 20 years’ industry experience. We have worked together for 7 of those 20 years and have built world-class recruitment teams on multiple occasions. To date, we have successfully onboarded and retained 12 colleagues who had no prior recruitment experience. Chelsea leads on all matters relating to HR/Operations and has put further structure in place to enable success. Daniel, Hannah, Sam T and Ellie have been building out their divisions and venturing into mentoring and leadership roles. Dora and Sam O are demonstrating superb industry expertise whilst Maddy, Melad, Henry, Kerri and Owen are all on track and excelling with their career progression. This all means we have a great foundation to bring the next phase of hires into the business! The gaming industry is a thriving and ever-growing market where candidates are in short supply so it’s of paramount importance we protect and nurture every engagement we have with the industry. As such, we’re seeking talented individuals who possess the unique abilities of influencing, empathising and above all else listening, to help our next phase of growth.

The role:

As a Trainee consultant, we do not expect you to possess anything else but the right attitude and aptitude to learn. Firstly, we will methodically teach you how to identify the correct talent for our clients and once mastered, we will build in managing the process from beginning to end and finally how to win (and more importantly) retain new clients.

Successful candidates will have the following character traits:

Brave. You are not afraid to take risks and fail. If that means you are unsuccessful, you will learn from that experience and implement any changes that need to be made to ensure you learn and grow.

Influence. You aren’t afraid to put yourself in challenging situations. If anything, you thrive when out of your comfort zone as it forces you to adapt to different circumstances - and quickly!

Intelligence. This doesn’t necessarily mean ‘book smart’ but you have the emotional intelligence to read and predict people’s thought patterns thus enabling you to make subtle suggestions to move a process along. You understand the importance of honing your skills constantly.

Selfless. Sometimes what you see as a positive outcome isn’t necessarily what other parties agree with. Removing personal gain from our thoughts is a big reason why our clients and candidates choose to use us time and time again.

Resilience. Life is ever changing, and every day presents a unique set of challenges. It is essential that you possess staying power as it’s inevitable that some days will not go to plan.

What we can offer you:

  • Flat commission structure with no thresholds.
  • 100% of every placement against your individual deliverable.
  • 4 day working week if you are achieving your individual deliverable.
  • Direct access and training by the founders.
  • External training via a trusted and reputable industry expert.
  • 20 days holiday increasing by 2 days per year to a maximum of 30 days.
  • Birthday off. If it falls on a weekend the closest Friday can be taken.
  • Central London location at Liverpool Street station.
  • Company and individual incentive trips.
  • Monthly wellbeing budget for use on any personal development activities.
  • Private medical healthcare with corporate gym membership.

Whether you are completely new to the job market, soon to complete your degree or already working in a comparable industry we are keen to speak with you!
